the United Nations, and is complying with the principles.
About the U.N. Global Compact
The U.N. Global Compact is a set of voluntary
guidelines for companies. The idea originated in January 1999 at The
World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the seventh U.N.
Secretary-General Kofi Annan proposed a means to harness the creative
powers of the private sector to fulfill the wishes of underprivileged
people and meet the needs of future generations. Each company
participating in the U.N. Global Compact agrees to support and practice
ten principles that have been established worldwide relating to the
following four areas, Human Rights, Labour Standards, Environment, and
Anti-Corruption.
