  - Incorporated SPI Precision (Suzhou) Pte Ltd, to carry out metal stamping, tooling and assemblies in China.
  - Acquired surface treatment plants Wuxi Changsing and Wuxi Gentech which will jumpstart the Company's surface treatment activities in China.

2004 - Acquired 51% stake in optoelectronics ODM Valen Technologies (S) Pte Ltd to further strengthen the Company's capabilities and know-how, and to achieve synergies arising from complementary in-house capabilities, greater economies of scale and access to new customer segments.
  - Established Sonic Clean (Suzhou) Co., Ltd, to provide clean room precision cleaning of components and assembly of clean room components to various industries.
  - Obtained Microstix® license from OSG Corporation.
  - Set up marketing office in Thailand.

Accorded the International Headquarters Award (DEI-IHQ) by the Economic Development Board, which included the Development and Expansion Incentive of a concessionary tax rate of 13% on qualifying income for a period of five years commencing 1 January 2002.
Received Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2004 award, for companies with outstanding revenue growth over the last three years.

  - Established SPI Technology Pte Ltd, to manufacture and supply engineered components such as disk clamps, balance rings and tray clips for the hard disk drive industry.

2002 - Established Unisteel Fastening Systems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd in Shanghai with production facilities to manufacture fastening products, to provide storage, distribution and after sales services.
  - Set up marketing office in Oklahoma, United States of America.
  - Acquired 51% interest in Sonic Clean Group to provide a whole range of aqueous cleaning services, consumables cleaning and sub-assembly work in clean room environment. It has production facilities in Singapore and China.
     
2001 - Set up marketing office in Japan.
  - Set up new business unit, Unisource to provide one-stop solution for sourcing and supply of precision components.
     
2000 - Listed on the Singapore Exchange Mainboard.
  - Established 70%-owned Takumi Unitech Pte Ltd with Japan-based partner Takumi Kogyo Co., Ltd to undertake high-end surface technology services.
  - Signed contract manufacturing deal with global market leader US-based Textron Fastening Systems, Inc. to supply threaded fasteners and cold formed products for non-hard disk drive market.
  - Obtained manufacturing licence from Germany-based EJOT for its PT® series of screws (thermoplastic applications).
     
1999 - Established second factory in Loyang.
  - Obtained manufacturing licenses from Camcar Textron for TORX® and TORX PLUS® fasteners and the use of CAMTRONIC® material.
  - Obtained manufacturing licenses from Conti Fasteners AG for REMFORM® and Trilobular®; (TAPTITE®) families of fasteners.
  - Accorded Enterprise 50 Award for the second consecutive year.
  - Accorded the Singapore Quality Class Award by the Singapore Productivity & Standards Board.
     
1998 - Launched successfully UNITRONIC® anti-galling fasteners.
  - Awarded S$1.035 million grant under the Research Incentive Scheme from the National Science & Technology Board.
  - Awarded Enterprise 50.
     
1997 - Partnered with Takumi Kogyo Co., Ltd on electro-polished screws.
  - Expanded and relocated factory to Loyang.
     
1994 - Started local production in Toa Payoh factory.
